Jessica Rothenberg-Aalami

Jessica Rothenberg-Aalami is co-founder of Cell-Ed. She leads Cell-Ed’s global content, technology and outreach teams. An impact entrepreneur, she inserts herself between people, places and projects to problem solve and ensure that vision meets on-the-ground realities – and has done so in over 40 countries. Social impact and technology has been her focus since founding her first think+tech+act company in 2002: GlobalCSR. In 2009, she co-founded the Gobee Group, an international tech design house aimed at making technology meaningful. She is also a collaborating researcher with the University of California’s Berkeley Roundtable on the International Economy (BRIE). Her most recent book is Technology at the Margins: How IT Meets the Needs of Emerging Markets. She holds a PhD in Economic Geography with a Master’s degree in International Studies from the University of Oregon; a Business Administration and Management Certificate from Harvard; and an undergraduate degree in International Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley.
